Performances (September through May):
Stage Days are large group performances, Recitals are for solo performances, and the Chamber Music Recital is for the chamber music group performances. Other performance opportunities may be added throughout the year.     

Make-up Lesson Policy Reminder:
There will be no make-up lessons unless the teacher is at fault for missing.  However, lessons may be rescheduled if it makes sense for the teacher and family.

There are twenty-eight (28) private lesson weeks (fourteen per semester) in the 2024-2025 session (fall/spring).  In addition, there is one week at the end of each semester that is designated for make-up lessons.  Please keep this and the make-up lesson policy in mind when scheduling with your teacher.

Schedule A Fridays:
For all instruments.
Exceptions: Mr. Martin’s cello groups are on Schedule B Fridays. Bass students please confer with Mark Whitney about day and time

*TMEA = Texas Music Educators Association.  The TMEA Convention is held every February and often involves SAOW teachers and high school students who have been accepted into All-State Orchestra.

  • Please indicate student, date of lesson, and teacher on your payment (for example:  "Suzie 6/5 lesson with Mrs. Whitney").

Cost per Summer Lesson for Families with Just One Student Taking Lessons: 
(Approximately 10% less per lesson than school-year lessons)

45-Minute:  $52.00 
60-Minute:  $65.00
